I've had this MatrixPortal M4 from AdaFruit for a little while now. It's a fun little bit of hardware. Easy to hack on with the Arduino IDE. AdaFruit have published a bunch of useful libraries for doing fun things with these LED matrix displays. Here it is running a metaballs simulation on a 64×64 matrix display.
